At The Listening Room, Emma is committed to providing transparent and accessible pricing for therapy sessions.
Session Fees

Standard 50-minute session: $300

Payment is made at the time of your session via secure online payment.
Medicare Rebates
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) provided by your GP, you will be eligible for a Medicare Rebate. Rebates reduce the out-of-pocket cost for sessions. Simply visit your GP and request a referral and MHCP.

The current rebate is $141.85. The remainder gap fee is covered by the client at $158.15.

Clients can access up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year, with a MHCP from the GP. After 6 sessions, Medicare requires you to attend the GP again for a review, to access the following 4 sessions.

Emma will process the rebate for you after payment, you will receive the rebate between 1 – 5 days after.

Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance with psychology cover, you may be able to claim a rebate. Emma can provide an invoice for you to submit to your provider.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice:

Do I need a referral to start therapy?
No. You can book privately without a referral. If you would like to use Medicare rebates, you will need a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

How much does it cost?
A standard 50 min session is $300. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible to a rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. This allows enough time to explore your concerns while keeping sessions focused and manageable.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and the challenges you are working on. Emma will discuss this with you as therapy progresses. Some people benefit from short-term therapy, while others choose longer-term support.

Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is private and confidential, in line with professional ethics and legal requirements. Emma will explain any limits to confidentiality at your first session.

Can I do sessions online?
Yes. All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth, so you can attend from the comfort and privacy of your own space anywhere in Australia.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will incur the full session fee ($300), and sessions cancelled less than 48 hours will incur 50% of the fee.

What areas do you work with?
Emma works with adults experiencing a number of difficulties including; anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, parenting challenges, self-esteem difficulties, grief, and other emotional or psychological concerns, among many others.
